Every year over the Easter long weekend, Kingston SE and our surrounding towns celebrate with festivals and events for the whole family. Here’s our list for things to do in Kingston.
Easter Saturday at Wangolina Winery
Once again the Wangolina Winery is holding their annual festival on the lawn. Bring your own chairs and blankets and enjoy a picnic with free entry. There will be live music, plenty of delicious and local food, wine and beer of course. For the kids, there’s an Easter egg hunt and face-painting. A wonderful family day out and for the adults, a taste of a local winery.

Kingston SE Lions Club, Maria Creek Easter Duck Classic
Over 500 rubber ducks take part in the Maria Creek Easter Duck Creek Classic which started in 2017. After an exhausting 2019 race, the ducks have had a well-earned year long break and are ready to go again.
Maria Creek is a popular fishing and boating spot in Kingston. There will be stalls and car boot sales on the day of the race with prizes and raffles.
When: Easter Sunday, 13th April, stalls/car boot sales from 9am, duck race starts at 10.30am

Free Easter Egg Hunt and Fete at Café Kids
On Easter Sunday, Café Kids/New Life centre will have a free Easter Egg hunt for kids. This fun event has been running for the last nine years. Café Kids is a place to go for young and old and enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee or a light snack while the kids stay occupied with many things to do.
There will be a fete on the day which will include a jumping castle, a sausage sizzle and steak sandwiches, steaming hot chocolate, hot cross buns and free Easter eggs for the kids!

Kingston Royal Flying Doctor Service Easter Plant Sale
The annual plant sale is a major fund raiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Kingston. There will be all sorts of plants – indoor, outdoor, large and small! The plants are all grown by the locals and who knows what sorts of interesting and exotic plants might be available at the sale.
An Easter raffle will be drawn at 12pm. The first prize is a fire pit, second prize is a trailer load of wood, third prize is a basket of Easter eggs.

Around Kingston – Coonawarra After Dark
Winemakers of the Coonawarra region run this annual event in Penola to celebrate the vintage season. There are local events and opportunities to meet the winemakers to join in the celebration of the vintage season.
On Friday night 3rd April, the annual vintage stomp at Di Giorgio’s Family Wines is always a great way to start the weekend, followed by home made pizza at Zema Estate and dancing at Brand’s Laira – that’s a Friday night worth looking forward to! On Saturday, you can head over to Raidis Estate for their famous Greek charcoal BBQ.
There will be a shuttle bus running Friday night between Penola and the venues.
