Summer has been a little slow in arriving this year but it is now well and truly here. And Kingston has lots of events for all ages throughout December 2022 and January 2023.
2022 Mayoral Christmas Parade and Family Evening – Friday December 16, 2022
Every year our much anticipated Christmas Parade brings many visitors to Kingston for a fun filled night of festivities and entertainment. The parade starts at Apex Park at 6.30pm, and ends at Lions Park. There will be food and drink stalls, entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display at the end of the evening. The annual Lobster Trail treasure hunt is a highlight of the parade and will finish at this event with many bags full of goodies from local businesses.

Sunset Yoga at Cape Jaffa Wines – Tuesday January 3, 2023
If you’re up for a bit of yoga, you might enjoy 75 minutes of a sunset yoga flow class at 6.30pm in the beautiful grounds of Cape Jaffa Wines. After the class there will be wine and nibbles. All you need to bring is your yoga mat, journal and yourself!

Cape Jaffa Seafood and Wine Festival – January 8, 2023
Take the family as this annual event has something for everyone. You can relax while sipping on a glass of wine or beer on the deck, and the kids can play games on the lush front lawn. The Annual Lions Surf Fishing Competition – January 21 and 22, 2023
The Annual Surf Fishing Competition in Kingston is on again this year and in its 44th year. Registrations start January 1st. https://www.facebook.com/kingsonsurffishingcontest/ The competition occurs along 87 kms of coast from Kingston to the Coorong with a prize pool of $25,000. Prize catches include mulloway, sharks, stingrays, flathead, mullet and tommy roughs.

Australia Day Celebrations and Ceremony on Thursday January 26, 2023
Australia Day Celebrations are happening again this year in Kingston from 8:00am to 11:00am and everyone is welcome. Breakfast is from 7.30am with the presentation ceremony at 9.30am. The awards include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
The event is held at Kingston SE Lions Park, Hanson Street, Kingston. Please note COVID restrictions will apply.
To celebrate the day, bring along your kite, You’ll see all sort of kites flying on the beach that day, it’s spectacular!
